ROCK HILL, SC – November 14, 2014, The Kappa Alpha Chapter held its Annual Founders’ Ball to honor local citizens, chapter brothers for their service as well as to celebrate the 103rd birthday of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Brother Dr. Derrick Alridge, Full Professor at the University of Virginia, was the keynote speaker for the event. He reminded the Brothers about the efforts of Brother Carter G. Woodson and how we need to use our collective resources to produce change in our towns, cities, states and this country.
During the banquet portion of the event, the Kappa Alpha Chapter presented the following awards: Manhood – Brother Carl Ratliff; Scholarship – Mr. Miles White, Northwestern High School; Perseverance – Mrs. Kenyatta Adams Brown, Uplift – The A.M.E. Zion South Eastern Conference, and the Citizen of the Year was Dr. Gladys Freely Robinson.

Chapter Award winners: Members vs. Men Award, Brother Gerald Dixon; Superior Service Award, Brother Byron D. Putman; Founders’ Award, Brother Carl K. Dicks; Co-Omega Man of the Year Brother Dr. Terrance Alridge and Brother Isaiah Venning.
